Refunds, Transfers & Deferrals

Refunds: Participant withdrawals are not eligible for cash refunds. The event-cancellation policy below applies if Cielo Running Running cancels an event.

Transfers: You cannot transfer your registration to another runner.

Deferrals: We do not offer general deferrals. Pregnancy deferrals are available under the policy below.

If you can't make it, you can withdraw and receive partial credit toward a future Cielo Running event.

Withdrawal & Race Credit

Registrations are nonrefundable and cannot be transferred to another runner. If you cannot attend, you may withdraw and receive credit based on when we receive your request.

Credit is based on when you withdraw before race day:

• 90 or more calendar days: 75% of the entry fee
• 30 to 89 calendar days: 50% of the entry fee
• Fewer than 30 calendar days: no credit

Race day is day zero. Credit is valid for one year from the date issued and may be used once toward entry to a future Cielo Running event. Credit has no cash value, is not transferable, and does not guarantee entry or bypass a waitlist.

Golden Six Hour Virtual

The 2026 Golden Six Hour virtual event is open to adults age 18 or older with a United States mailing address. One paid entry includes the virtual event and the participant package described on the event page. The package remains included if the entrant does not submit an activity. Golden Six Hour virtual entries are not eligible for withdrawal credit. Lost or undeliverable packages caused by an incorrect address may not be replaceable.

Award entrants must submit one verifiable activity completed between October 1 and October 31, 2026. The route must be primarily unpaved trail; short paved connectors are allowed. The most-miles award uses one continuous activity, elapsed time includes stops, and the activity may not exceed six hours. Photo-award activities must cover at least one mile. Entrants may submit one photo in each photo category and may win only one photo category.

Cielo Running and Walla Trails & Community may verify eligibility and make final award decisions. An ineligible or incomplete award submission does not cancel the entrant's participant package.

A photo-award entrant must own the submitted photograph or have authority to license it. By accepting the photo permission in the submission form, the entrant grants Cielo Running Running and Walla Trails & Community a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to review the photo, identify it in event and award coverage, and, if selected, reproduce it on the Golden Six Hour winter postcards. Public-gallery display is a separate, optional choice that can be withdrawn from the entrant's account during the submission window or by contacting us.

Pregnancy Deferral

If you are pregnant, you can defer your registration for up to two years. No medical documentation is required. Email hello@cielorunning.com to request a deferral.

Inclusion & Identity

Cielo Running welcomes runners of every gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, body type, and ability level. We offer women, men, and non-binary divisions. You choose the division that fits you. We do not require documentation or verification of gender identity.

Event Changes & Cancellation

Safety comes first. We may modify the course, shorten the event, delay the start, postpone, or cancel if conditions make the planned event unsafe or impossible.

If Cielo Running cancels for a reason within our reasonable control, we will refund the race entry fee to the original payment method.

If weather, wildfire, hazardous air quality, natural disaster, a land-manager closure, or another circumstance outside our reasonable control forces cancellation, we will first try to reschedule the event in the same calendar year. If it cannot be rescheduled, each entrant will receive a 50% credit toward a future Cielo Running event, valid for one year from issue.

Entry fees are not refunded for course changes, a shortened event, a delayed start, or an entrant's inability to attend a rescheduled date.

Code of Conduct

Follow Leave No Trace. Treat volunteers and runners with respect. Follow all course rules and staff directions. Littering, unsportsmanlike conduct, harassment, or abuse of any kind results in disqualification.

Intellectual Property

Cielo Running's original site content, including its text, photos, logos, and design, belongs to Cielo Running, LLC. Third-party names, trademarks, and logos remain the property of their respective owners. Do not reproduce or redistribute protected content without permission from its owner.

Privacy

When you register, we collect your name, email, date of birth, and emergency contact information. We use it to administer your entry, confirm eligibility, communicate event updates, support participant tracking, and respond to race-day safety needs. Authorized race staff and volunteers receive only the information needed for their role.

For the 2026 Golden Six Hour virtual event, we also collect a mailing address, activity link, activity date, distance, elapsed time, award choices, and any photographs you submit. Mailing addresses are used for fulfillment. Activity links and performance details are visible only to authorized Cielo Running staff and designated Walla Trails reviewers; they are not included in the public gallery. A reviewer sees a mailing address only when needed to fulfill an assigned hoodie.

Official race results may display your name, bib number, division, placement, finish status, and time. You can keep your result off the public results page during registration or change that preference from your account. We do not publish your email, date of birth, or emergency contact information in race results.

We do not sell your personal information. Service providers process limited data on our behalf for authentication, registration records, payments, email delivery, hosting, and basic site analytics. We do not use advertising pixels to build third-party advertising audiences.

We retain records only as long as reasonably necessary to operate the event, meet legal and accounting obligations, prevent fraud, and resolve disputes. You can request access, correction, or deletion by emailing hello@cielorunning.com; some transaction records may need to be retained where required for those purposes.
